Bana clan
Bana is a gotra of Jats found in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh in India. Banas are descendants of King Banasur. Their capital was at Bayana in Bharatpur. The Vana Ganga river gets name from Banas.〔Dr Mahendra Singh Arya, Dharmpal Singh Dudi, Kishan Singh Faujdar & Vijendra Singh Narwar: Adhunik Jat Itihasa (The modern history of Jats), Agra 1998〕
Bana is a Rigvedic ruling clan. Byawar near Ajmer and Bhadawar, Kadiyar Khanda in Bikaner, Giradhpur, Chitauli, Mohiuddinpur Lalsana and Chandaudi etc. famous villages of Meerut are inhabited by Bana Jats.〔KL Faujdar:Jat Samaj monthly magazine, Agra, March 2001 Page 6〕
There is also a Bana River which is situated in Rajasthan near Bikaner.
